Asylum Claims and Human Rights

Claiming asylum is one of the most significant steps a person can take, and the process can feel overwhelming at a time that is already difficult. We work with clients to build a clear, well-evidenced claim based on the Refugee Convention or human rights grounds, taking the time to understand the full account before anything is submitted to the Home Office.

We represent clients at every stage — from the initial screening interview through to the substantive asylum interview, and in any subsequent appeal if the claim is refused. Where human rights arguments apply alongside or instead of a refugee claim, we build those into the case from the outset.

An asylum claim is only as strong as the evidence and preparation behind it — and that work has to start before the interview, not after.

We also advise separately on human rights claims, including cases where removal from the UK would breach a person’s right to life, freedom from torture, or family and private life under the European Convention on Human Rights.
